2019 - 2020
Dear PS145M parents,
As the school year begins, we would like your help in launching a new school tradition – our annual Direct Appeal. Our school has made great strides in the past few years. We would like to build on this progress and ensure that our children have the best possible foundation for future success. The DOE budget is not sufficient to cover many of the things our children need most. However, the good news is that if we work together, we can accomplish a great deal.
Our goal for this year is to raise money for part-time assistant teachers for all Kindergarten and 1st grade classrooms, in-curriculum coding classes and mobile computer labs for grades 2-5, and expanded Wellness in the Schools for the entire school.
If you give $10, you will be helping the school purchase ONE mobile computer lab, so that your children can learn to code as part of an engaging, interactive classroom environment.
If you give $50, you will be helping the school purchase FIVE mobile computer labs, enough for all children in grades 2-5.
If you give $100, you will be helping to pay for in-curriculum coding classes, so that your children can all become fluent in “the language of the 21st century”.
If you give $500, you will be helping Wellness in the Schools chefs create nutritious, unprocessed meals using more fresh fruit and vegetables and less added sugar and preservatives.
If you give $1000, you will be helping to cover the entire cost of coding classes plus mobile computer labs for all children in grades 2-5.
If you give $2500, you will be helping to hire FOUR teaching assistants, enough for all children in grades K and 1 to have support 3 days per week.
If you give $5000, you will be helping to hire SIX teaching assistants, enough for all children in grades K and 1 to have support 5 days per week.
Please consider this an investment in your child’s, and your family’s, future. Don’t give more than you can afford, but please make every effort to contribute. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference. Our goal is 100% participation.
We accept donations by check, cash, or online at www.ps145pa.org. Please see FAQs for more details.
Thank you in advance for your support and your partnership!
